As the largest privately owned provider of thermal media in the U.S., we at OMNI Systems place the highest priority on protecting the environment in every area of our operations. We are committed to operating our business in ways that reduce pollution and more efficiently utilize natural resources to minimize environmental impacts. Additionally, we will meet or exceed applicable environmental laws and regulations, as well as other established requirements.

When choosing its equipment and supplies, OMNI has made protecting the environment a top priority. In addition to benefiting the environment, the company is responding to the growing requirements of its customers. SUSTAINABILITY

Facestock Materials & Liners

FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) and Chain of Custody Forest Stewardship Council^® certified.

Our suppliers are Chain of Custody Forest Stewardship Council^® certified at all their U.S. locations. The majority of our suppliers’ papers are FSC-certified. Over the last 12 months, OMNI has procured 99.83% of its face stock volume on FSC certified papers from our suppliers. FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

FSC Chain-of-Custody certification traces the path of products, from forests through the supply chain, ensuring the consumer that the FSC-certified products they purchase are coming from responsibly managed sources.

Adhesives

TLMI Recycling Protocol

OMNI has procured 99.93% of its adhesive volume with adhesives that meet TLMI Recycling Protocol for paper and/or film products. To help improve the recycling of paper packaging, the adhesive meets the testing criteria of the TLMI Recycling Compatible Adhesive LRP-2 Lab Test Protocol. These tests confirm that the adhesives meet key criteria of the recycling industry.

Inks

Compass Color & Coatings (C3)

Water base Flexo printing is a mature and industry proven technology. It is an available solution to start being Sustainable by the reduction of VOC’s & CO2 emissions. Depending on the ink formulation, a water base ink can contain up to 65% water. 

We are committed to using the most environmentally safe raw materials available. RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directives mandate limits for heavy metals and compounds. We certify that all products comply with RoHs directives.

• The sum concentration levels of lead mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium are less than 100 parts per million.
• The sum concentration levels of polybrominated biphenyls (PBB’s) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE’s) are below 0.1% by weight (homogenous materials).
  
• These inks contain no volatile solvents, nor any ozone depleting chemicals.

Around Our Facilities

Sustainability has become engrained in OMNI Systems' daily decision making:

• OMNI Systems has implemented a process to reduce paper waste in the office and on the shop floor. We are always looking for ways to re-use or recycle around the plant.
  
• We use electric power industrial equipment for material handling and warehouse operations. 
  
• OMNI diverts 15 tons per week to a recycling facility to be turned into energy pellets used in coal plants that was previously sent to a landfill.
